Wrist sprain sidelines Beltre

There were five minutes remaining before the first pitch yesterday when Adrian Beltre got back to Fenway Park after a full array of tests on his sore left wrist. But the third baseman insisted he wanted to play.
He even called manager Terry Francona from Massachusetts General Hospital, lobbying to stay in the lineup.
But Beltre was given a day off and watched the Red Sox beat the Blue Jays, 6-0.
