Operative Techniques in Sports Medicine

As an expert in the field of hand and wrist sports medicine, Dr. Ruchelsman, and his colleague Dr. Mark Vitale of Yale-New Haven Health, have been invited by Operative Techniques in Sports Medicine to publish on extensor carpi ulnaris (ECU) injuries in the athletes wrist. Injuries to the ECU and its sub-sheath are frequent injuries during stick and racquet sports (i.e., hockey, baseball, golf, tennis, and lacrosse) and can create significant ulnar-sided wrist pain that limits the athletes ability to compete. Timely diagnosis and treatment are essential to facilitate return to competition.
